about
Raúl Moreno was born in La Mancha (Spain), a territory of vast horizons where distance, solitude, and imagination shape the perception of reality.
His early interest in photography emerged through a close relationship with the natural environment, where the act of photographing became a way of observing and understanding the world. Over time, this shifted towards a deeper engagement with people, their stories, and the landscapes they inhabit.
Working through long-term projects, his practice moves between documentary and interpretation, grounded in observation and proximity. Influenced by an anthropological perspective, his work focuses on contexts where myth and reality overlap, and where identity is shaped as much by what is visible as by what remains unseen.
His work is driven by an interest in what resists being fully revealed.
Alongside his personal projects, he develops photographic experiences that combine exploration, learning, and a close engagement with territory and culture.
